YHA Black Sail - A Green Beacon

The installation of renewable energy technologies (photovoltaic panels and solar thermal panels), biomass wood-burning stove with connection with new thermal water store, plus associated plumbing and electrical insallations. This will make the Youth Hostel less reliant on fossil fuels and support a reduction in operationg costs, whilst contributing to a reduction in carbon emissions. The project will support the vision of the Wild Ennerdale Project, with fewer vehicle movements through the valley transporting LPG cylinders.
