Young Friends of Vauxhall Spring Gardens

The aim of this project is to protect, preserve and promote Vauxhall Spring Gardens, by involving young people in environmental improvements, setting up a ‘Young Friends of Spring Gardens’ group, and increasing the use and promotion of the Vauxhall Spring Gardens.
During a planting sessions, hosted by Trees for Cities, young people will plant 4 standard trees and about 300 wild flower plugs / bulbs in soft ground, on approved sites within Vauxhall Spring Gardens.
The local community and young people will be encouraged to consider the value of trees in their own lives, whilst learning about the environmental, social and cultural relevance of tree planting and maintenance. Participants will benefit from a sense of achievement, ownership and attachment to the gardens, which will in turn benefit from a reduced risk of vandalism and anti-social behaviour.
