Zest Centre, Sheffield – Update Changing Rooms and Access Improvement (006274)

The project is centred on improving accessibility for the high number of disabled people and families that use the facilities, by installing automated doors from the main entrance to the pool, modernise the old fashioned changing facilities. There are currently 5 sets of doors to get through to the pool area, which inhibits the independence of less mobile service users and mums with pushchairs, and the changing facilities are in a very poor state of repair.

Zest deliver high quality and responsive services to local people. They are passionate community enablers, working to tackle inequalities and improve community wellbeing in an inner city area of deprivation. They deliver a range of integrated community, leisure, health and work support services. The centre is a Victorian building and includes a ramp and hoist access swimming pool, 2 gyms and pay as you feel café.
