Zetland Place Community Garden

BTCV has established links with the Youth Workers in Rochdale Council Youth Service which has led to this project.
Local young people will be involved in improving a community garden based adjacent to their Youth Base in Rochdale. The site includes neglected wildflower area, wildlife garden, communal meeting space, vegetable beds, training and demonstration area and fruit trees.
Improvements will lead to the improvement of an existing green space. Provide habitats for insects and invertebrates. Provide a ‘breatihng space’ in a built – up urban area. Hedges and trees planted and maintained will reduce wind speeds and dust and noise pollution. An informal place for different sections of the community to meet. A place for people to engage with their natural environment in an urban area.
