Cardiff & Vale Music Service

Chapter wishes to renovate the west wing of its main building to create four new large community spaces which will accommodate the Cardiff & Vale Music Service and approximately 730 young people every week from September 2018 onwards. Refurbishment of these spaces would also mean Chapter has more available space to offer out in-kind or at heavily subsidised rates to individual artists and organisations.

Although the Chapter building has benefitted from various refurbishments, the west wing has had no major capital investment since the 1970s and did not form part of the £4m redevelopment in 2007. Consequently, work includes the upgrading of windows and flooring along with a minor reconfiguration of the layout and soundproofing to protect the Gallery which is underneath.
