Chipping Campden School Multisport Astro Pitch

This project aims to provide primary and secondary school aged pupils plus the local community with access to astroturf facilities. The facilities will support more enhanced girls’ football training, and boys’ hockey training at the school, which currently is not offered due to lack of Astroturf facilities. In addition girls will benefit from hockey training on a surface to which the vast majority of their competitors have access. The pitch will also result in 2 local hockey clubs (Blockley and Chipping Campden) having local access to training facilities and a league hockey pitch. This will reduce travel distance and time for at least 33 women (3 hockey teams). In the longer term it is hoped that the newly developing Campden Town Football Club will use the facilities as their members outgrow the reduced size pitch which they currently use. It is also hoped that there will be a growth in boys’ and mens’ hockey which is not currently available in the local area.
