Lowbell Lane Lake Improvements

This project is to make improvements to Lowbell Lane Lake, London Colney.

Works will include improvement to the pathway and provisions along the perimeter of the lake to improve a stunning asset which is a jewel of biodiversity within the parish. Overhauling of carefully placed rewilded areas around the lake, with planters with pollinator flowers will improve the visual appeal and increase biodiversity. Sustainable, substantial and improved benches and bins will be provided. Education of behaviour and the local wildlife and fauna by way of appropriate signage to help promote and protect the important habitat and all of what it supports is also included.

The project will also include safety equipment to include 2 or 3 sites for life-rings as well as water monitoring kits and cleaning equipment (substantial nets to remove litter and debris) along with a decking area to negate erosion of banks whilst allowing access to the lake which would otherwise be flooded.

The improvements will enhance the visitor experience the Lake and help with resilience given issues with flooding in the past.
