Mayfield Astronomy and Space Centre

This is an ambitious project to create the first astronomy and space education centre in South Yorkshire. Full planning permission was obtained in 2005.
We intend to use this environmentally – friendly centre for educating the public of South Yorkshire and surrounding areas in the stimulating subject of astronomy. We will invite children of all ages to visit the centre and will run adult astronomy education courses aimed at all levels. The centre will also be used as a commuity resource. Our plans for the building include a two -domed observatory, a small planetarium, a training room and a library / internet room. LCF FUNDING ONLY TO BE USED FOR ON SITE PHYSICAL WORKS
