The Green Improvement Project, Marske-by-Sea

The Green in Marske-by-Sea is an area of public open space surrounded by housing/shops, managed by the local authority since the 1950’s as amenity grassland. It is well used by local children playing ball games and by local residents taking a short cut to the shops. After consultation with residents and the borough council, Marske Residents Association would like to improve The Greens aesthetic appeal and conservation/amenity value by creating a surfaced footpath across the site, providing limited seating and planting a number of heavy standard trees and shrubs, whilst retaining space for ball games
