Burtonwood Access Project

The project will:
Improve 300m section of footpath running through the centre of the village.
Link Burtonwood Nature Reserve with the centre of the village and the local school and shops
Provide a circular walk from the local parish church through the village.
Improve a historic footpath through leveling, draining and clearing vegetation
Link burtonwood Village to Newton- Le-Willows and the Sankey Valley Park passing under the passes under the Sankey Nine arches viaduct built by George Stephenson 1830 which carried the first passenger railway in the world.
