Community and Volunteer Development Programme

Encourage community and volunteer participation in the practical improvement of the Water of Leith. Deliver 40 habitat improvement / river clean ups annually by community groups and volunteers. Develop partnership projects with agencies working with disadvantaged groups
Promote Volunteer involvement in all areas of the Trust’s work. Recruiting, training and sustaining volunteer involvement. Offering a diversity of opportunities and placements, targeting involvement from: youths, minority groups, OAP’s. 4000 hours p.a.
Develop community participation in our Education Programmes.
Demonstrate how local community action has a positive benefit on wildlife, our environment, and our communities.
