Cronton Colliery Conservation Project

Local residents, special interest groups and Groundwork’s supported employment team will deliver a conservation improvement programme within Cronton Colliery which will link to a wider restoration programme. An area within the colliery site has been identified as an area of special botanical interest but has become inaccessible, intimidating and dangerous to local residents. Groundwork’s trained staff will work with local residents to learn new skills around woodland management and create an exciting area for children, young people and adults to explore and experience a range of wildlife habitats.
