External Render Restoration

The church was built in the 1080s and extended in the 1260s and the structure remains essentially as it was then. Its exterior was rendered in lime, and limewashed. Much of the original render remains but some has been inappropriately epaired, and some is now becoming detached. We will conserve the original, replace it where badly repaired or damaged, and protect the whole with limewash and sheltercoat. The stonework at the corners and of some windows is decayed. This will be stablised and protected
