Improved Access to Monks Walk in Thorpe

This project seeks funding to relocate the historic stone stile at the entrance of Footpath No 51 in Thorpe to the side of the path to improve access for all users. Footpath No 51, also known as Monks Walk, runs between Thorpe Village and Chertsey and provides an important traffic free route for pedestrians.
Relocation of the traditional stone stile will improve access for all and facilitate use of the path by cyclists, the less able and those with pushchairs. Necessary remedial works to the listed brick walls to the side of the stile are also included within the scheme.
