Projects / Interpreting the view

Interpreting the view

Deri and Dolforwyn Woods sit at the heart of their respective communities. These ancient woodlands contain a diverse array of habitats and species and both are popular walking sites. The historical relevance of these sites should also not be understated with Deri Woods in particular the site of an old pumphouse used to source water from the RIver Banwy. Both sites are ideal bases for family and educational visits with the main stumbling block being the paucity of innovative and engaging infrastructure. This aim of this project is to enhance the management of the habitats on these sites, refurbish and improve existing visitor engagement infrastructure, such as the old pumphouse in Deri Woods, and introduce interpretation which develop visitors’ understanding of the wildlife in these woodlands, their place in the landscape and the heritage of the area.
