Land of the Fanns – Imps to Ingrebourne Valley

Improvement works to existing public amenity specifically: –

Archaeology exhibition

This project is about developing and equipping exhibition spaces across the Land of the Fanns, to promote archaeology and heritage to local audiences. As part of the wider project, exhibitions will be established temporarily at 12 locations throughout its lifetime with 2 exhibitions established at the following locations in Havering in 2019/20:

• Thames Chase Forest Centre
• Ingrebourne Valley Visitor Centre

The project seeks to connect audiences within the Land of the Fanns to the archaeological finds from the landscape held in the Museum of London and local museum archives. It comprises two key elements: the sourcing and selection of artefacts and interpreting these as part of producing the exhibition.

Once the travelling archaeology exhibition comes to an end a permanent home will be sought for the exhibits and interpretation which will be at Thames Chase.
