Provision of a Wet/Dry Marsh Area at the New Hythe Park

This project forms part of a larger scheme to develop a 4.6 hectare area of derelict land, open space and allotments into a new public park. The scheme has been drawn up following extensive consultation with local residents.

The project involves the creation of a wet/dry marsh area in the naturally low area of the park which will collect water from the rest of the park during periods of rainfall. The area will be planted with suitable water loving plants which in turn will attract wildlife. A timber (or recycled plastic) walkway over the wet area is included within the scheme
