Projects / Rebuilding of Thorpe Youth Association Community Hall

Rebuilding of Thorpe Youth Association Community Hall

This project’s aim is to rebuild the hall that has been in continuous use since 1966. It was closed in February 2009 as no longer fit for purpose. (Health and Safety).
This project seeks funding to assist with the rebuild which involves relocating a new building on the present site following demolition of the present building. Phase one of the project is to begin shortly. This project will form phase two.

As well as the community hall, the interior will have a kitchen, WC, disabled WC, storage areas and ramped disabled access.

Until February 2009 the original building was in continuous use by Brownies, Scouts, Beavers and Cubs and private functions for residents of Thorpe and surroundings.

There is strong community support for this project and much fundraising has been done and will continue to be done.
