Restoration of freshwater to Barrowden Mill Pond

Currently the ancient millpond is full of stagnant water as there is no longer a freshwater supply and has not been for some time. The pond collects large amounts of algae in the summer months. The fesability study indicated that restoring the freshwater supply from the River Welland to the millpond would eradicate the algae and provide a natural habital for wildlife as well as maintaining a place of local historical interest.
