Restoration of the Stove House at Auchencruive

The principal aim of the project is to repair and restore a Grade B listed Victorian greenhouse which has fallen into a state of disrepair to such an extent that it is a danger to public safety. The greenhouse originally served the mansion at Auchincruive and was latterly used by West of Scotland Agricultural College for education purposes. It was however abandoned a number of years ago when it became unsafe. The greenhouse has now been leased to the charity Gardening Leave for a minimum of twenty five years and will be fully restored prior to being brought back into use for horticultural therapy purposes. This will not only secure the future of the building but will also allow the charity to fully operate on a year round basis and provide a focus for activity at Auchincruive.
