Tetbury Goods shed Refurbishment Project

Improved facilities for Tetbury, its surrounding villages and many visitors. The Goods Shed has a strong architectural presence which will be preserved and enhanced in this project by restoration of the wooden feather-edge canopy over its entrance.

Its new interior becomes a large hall, with stage and cinema screen, café and toilets. Signage will explain and recall the working days of the shed, and its relevance to Tetbury’s historic wool trade.

The Goods Shed sits at the centre of parkland at the foot of Gumstool Hill close to the towns centre. The towns major annual events – The Woolsack races and the wacky Soapbox Derby – are held here.

The Goods Shed benefits from free parking for 78 cars + 2 coaches – a very rare commodity in Tetbury. We believe our proposal will bring the Goods Shed into full use, benefiting the whole community and its visitors as well as encouraging use of the adjacent parkland and paths by walkers, joggers and cyclists.
