Project Detail

The village of Trinant is situated within the former South Wales Coalfield and is officially classified as an area of deprivation with high unemployment and poor facilities for the general public. This project will utilise a vacant shop premises on the village square to develop a facility for young people to access social and educational opportunities for use after school and in the evenings. The facility will be used during the day as a community cafe for people who live and work in the village and surrounding area. The cafe will be staffed by volunteers and income generated from sales will be reinvested with the aim of becoming a fully sustainable facility. This application will provide match funding to enable all capital works for the conversion of the building to be fully funded.
