Project details below
St Wilfrid's Parish Church Sculpture
The project involves using a chainsaw to carve an image of a guardian angel out of an ancient beech tree in the churchyard at St Wilfrid's Parish Church, Calverley. The tree, which is estimated to be over 200 years old, had its branches removed for safety reasons and its presence is seen to be like a guardian angel protecting the Church and the community. The scheme also includes planting wildflower plugs and scattering seed to improve the bio-diversity of the meadow area.
