Bankside Park - Treasured Space

We believe that people everywhere and of every age need places to treasure. Whether its a place to kick a football about, a place to relax, or a place to have fun. Not everyone is getting the benefit of good outside space. We are running a campaign to encourage more people to get involved with supporting and improving local treasured spaces. Bankside Park is the only children’s play area in the western half of Eastfield but it is very run down. At a consultation event Feb 2014 residents expressed the need for improved facilities at Bankside, This project will develop the play area refurbishing existing play equipment, including repairing the junior swings and painting the equipment bright colours. It will also install new equipment including a new roundabout and rubber safety surfacing. We will work with local children to design log play sculptures for a woodland area. Seats and bins will be installed and trees and flower bulbs will be planted.
