Cherry Go Round - Treasured Space
We believe that people everywhere and of every age need places to treasure. Whether its a place to kick a football about, a place to relax, or a place to have fun. Not everyone is getting the benefit of good outside space. Some people are missing out and some communities just don't have any green space to treasure. We are running a campaign to encourage more people to get involved with supporting and improving local treasured spaces. In 2007 an old playground was removed from Cherry Tree Estate in Stockport. Now there is nowhere safe for the children to play. They have resorted to playing on the corner of a nearby road and consequently reports of anti-social behaviour have increased in the area. The old play area was removed due to it being considered old and unsafe. Now with just the fence remaining, the land has become unusable and uninviting to the local community. This project aims to re-establish a new play area to provide the local children somewhere to play.
