Our plans are to improve the surface around the existing Cenotaph, by replacing the existing cracked, weedy and uneven tarmac with a new level tarmac surface to make it safer to walk on, less unsightly and easier to maintain. We also want to create a second access point to the memorial garden, that is wheelchair friendly and means that it is easier to enter or leave the site, especially when large numbers of people are attending such as on Armistice Day and when the Royal British Legion hold their parades.
