Quay Waterman's Association Observation Deck

The aim of this project is to create an attractive, fully accessible, seating and study area, adjacent to the QWA Heritage Centre, overlooking the River Dee and Flintshire bridge. An Observation Deck (viewing area) will be constructed, including a seating area, beside the river, overlooking the bridge, and saltmarsh to the north west. The wall that encloses an indoor class room has 3 windows, currently bricked up and these will be re- opened and new windows installed enabling views of the river, past the new seating area. The Observation Deck will host bird-watching and bridge building activities and offer a place where people can sit with a coffee, watch the boats or simply relax with tea and cake after a boat trip. A bespoke safety fence consisting of steel plates with artwork will be erected around the site.
