Project Detail

The project will improve the facilities and conditions of a valuable community centre so that it is more pleasant for users, and ultimately is used more by local residents. We also aim to 'future proof' the building by installing long-lasting energy efficient equipment. We aim to be able to open certain areas of the building for longer hours for community use. The current heating system is thoroughly inefficient, taking 24 hours to heat the building, and cannot be regulated to heat only those areas of the building that are in use on any particular day e.g. if a community group wishes to use the community conference room for a weekend event, then we have to heat the entire building. We cannot afford to heat the whole building to use only one room, the local community is therefore missing out at present on the use of a valuable community asset.
